CPUC Grants CLEC Status to NGA 911's Cloud Based Solution
  By PR Newswire

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- NGA 911 LLC, a leading provider of Next Generation 9-1-1 solutions, announced today that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has granted them a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN), fully licensing the company to offer telecom services in California and leading the way for Next Generation 9-1-1 nationwide.

The CPUC has essentially cleared regulatory and funding challenges, so NGA 911's advanced technology can be applied to the modernization of the 9-1-1 system. The anticipated impact of this technology is a far-reaching improvement in the operation, function and downtime of what are often outdated 9-1-1 systems, at a manageable cost.

9-1-1 has served citizens and saved many lives over the past 50 years. During this time, we have been able to encircle the globe with communication satellites, interconnect the entire human race, and place mobile and mini-supercomputers in everybody's hands. Now, we have the opportunity to deliver these advanced technologies to 9-1-1 systems and services like never before.

"This is an exciting time in 9-1-1. The CPUC has paved the way for the adoption of our Next Generation 9-1-1 cloud solution across California --- I'm sure other states will soon follow and I'm glad we have an experienced team in place to assist this process," said NGA 911's CEO, Don Ferguson.

Ever since wireless overtook traditional landline 9-1-1 call volume, NGA's team of experienced 9-1-1 industry veterans have awaited this opportunity.  They are pleased to apply their experience and deliver the next generation of 9-1-1 to citizens and 9-1-1 call takers.
